Downstream End of Gabions

The beginning and end of the gabion wall were critical areas that will be exposed to a variety of eddies and erosive forces during fluctuations in the river level. Field observations of the various potential water levels and some subjective analysis of flow patterns revealed where large boulders and additional geotextile wrapped stone would be most effective in protecting the transition to natural channel section.
